Macho Man

Chavit Singson beats up both his common-law wife, Rachel Tiongson and her lover, after catching them in bed. Singson said that he had no regrest hurting Tiongson, the women with whom he has five children. He stressed that he was still good because he did not kill Tiongson and her lover.
He even made a comment about the size of Tiongson’s lover: “It was so tiny, it can qualify for the Guinness Book of World Records.” An ultra-macho man is within our midst. Yes folks, that is Chavit Singson, our very own Deputy National Security Adviser.
I don’t want to dwell on the wrongess of infidelity, or the ungodliness of domestic violence. Much has been said about all that already. What I do want to point out is how our society condones cheating husbands but scorns unfaithful wives. Even our justice system shows compassion when a husband kills her wife and lover when caught red-handed.
“The Revised Penal Code has a glaring gender discrepancy in cases of infidelity. A wife can easily be accused of adultery, while a husband has to be caught with incontrovertible proof that he is cohabiting and supporting another woman.
The Code of Muslim Personal Laws allows polygamy, and early and arranged marriages. Female heirs are given only 50% of the inheritance of a male heir.
20% of Filipino youth say taht there is domestic violence in their family.
The earliest sexual encounters of 65% of Filipino women happened against their will.
Roughly 11% of Filipino youth claim to have been victims of incest.”

Although Tiongson received praises and support from various women’s groups and individuals for bravely filing charges against Singson, it is still a tiny step. It will take Herculean efforts and several generations to chaneg how our society sees and treats women. Why? Because based on the above stats, our current laws and culture continue to breed macho men and enslave women.
i know it may be quite disturbing (what he did)… but again…..before we jump the gun too early we must first look into the facts and the circumstances of the event….we all know that chavit is a goon and all the negatives that society can label him but then again…. he is still innocent until proven otherwise….it’s a pity that PDI bannered the lady’s story right away and then here comes the daughter saying otherwise….. now that’s a foot in someones mouth… tsk tsk tsk….. do we have to remind ourselves of what had happened to the subic rape case where the lady cried wolf? yes these are crimes that should be cursed all the way to hell however one is innocent till proven otherwise… it is a shame that when a crime is committed between a man and a woman it is always if not often that the man is immediately the suspect or the offender….what about the men / husbands who are beaten up by their wives physically and/or emotionally and/or mentally???? where do they turn to?? men can and are victims too….what’s worse is that they are too ashamed to accept what has happened and they can not approach the law for fear of their manhood….so who’s the victim there????
before you get me wrong, all i’m saying is that before such issue is discussed and judged prematurely…..wait for the REAL facts and let the courts do their job…..

Hate to ruin anyone’s day but this singson is’nt macho at all…beating his wife with a wipe i read and then beats his wife and her lover…while his goons stand by to cover his ass just in case….he sounds like a pussy to me..like most men who beat their wives and g/f’s…and to top it off he screws around on his wife …what a hypocrite….what kind of macho man beats a woman?? Not a real man..an insecure wimp of a man who should’nt be with a woman in the first place….and to the guy who’s crying about women mentally,emotionally,physically abusing men..buddy give yr head a shake…that only happens when you allow it…so be a man and walk out of the relationship…from what i see..there’s plenty of beautiful Philippina’s there who would love to have a good man
case dismissed…..haayyy ano ba yan?
