Game Notes from Alaska vs Sta. Lucia 11.04.2009 at the Araneta Coliseum:

  • Final Score: Alaska def Sta. Lucia 91-83
  • Best Player of the Game: LA Tenorio with 13 points 5 rebs 6 assists
  • Tenorio also hit a critical three-pointer in the 4th period to ice the game
  • Tenorio set the tone in first period with 4 assists as Alaska led by as many as 9
  • Despite 10-point effort by Dennis Daa in 2nd period, Realtors trailed by as many as 10 in the quarter
  • Realtors unleashed 8-0 run to start 2nd half
  • All it took to quell the uprising were timely baskets by Willie Miller and Tenorio
  • SLR’s Kelly Williams and Gabby Espinas combined for 19 points and 9 rebounds in 3rd quarter rally
  • Espinas finished with another stellar game: 16 points 11 rebounds
  • Ryan Reyes presided over 4th quarter comeback by Realtors
  • Reyes runs with speed of a student late for class, strength of a running-back forcing his way to the endzone
  • Reyes scored 8 pulsating points in last-ditch run by Realtors
  • Baskets by Joe Devance, Tenorio and Thoss finished-off Sta. Lucia down the stretch
  • Tim Cone has to be esctatic with Mark Borboran’s performance: 5 pts 3 rebs 2 steals in 13 quality minutes
  • Borboran and Larry Fonacier — non-prototypical athletes with above-average basketball common sense
  • Reynel Hugnatan is Alaska’s “Swiss Knife” - he scores with left hand, right hand, and contributes in other areas too
  • I wouldn’t be surprised if Hugnatan can also score with left foot and right foot with equal efficiency
  • Can someone be ”ambidextrous” using his feet?
  • After decent 1st half (2 pts, 3 rebs, 4 assists, 1 steal), Joseph Yeo disappeared in 2nd half (0/5 FG, 0 reb 0 assist)
  • Realtors made just 1 out of 12 3-pointers
  • Josh Urbiztondo struggled after dream game last Oct 30. J-Urbz went scoreless vs Alaska (0 pts 0/4 FG)
  • Alaska stayed on top at 5-0
  • Sta. Lucia slid to 3-2 MH
